Good Evening/Night/Morning, or just, whenever you are reading this!
I have 4 selections for a nice days racing on a Saturday. I am writing this up early as will be playing golf early in the morning so likely to miss the first few races.
14.35 Newbury
If Quotica De Poyans hadn't blundered at the last fence last time out he would surely have made a pleasing handicap debut. This hugely consistent hunter chase / point to pointer changed hands in May for £75,000 and is set for better than this class 3.
NAP
11-4 Best price (as of Friday evening)
Poor - PU
14.05 Newbury
There are 3 horses in here that I have previously tipped, and they all ran really well. But which has the scope for more improvement over fences? It has to be Walkon. Like Quotica De Poyans, this gelding is trained by Alan King who looks to be set for a good day. Walkon finished 6 lengths in front of Zaynar who has subsequently backed that form up by winning a Grade 2 Novice Chase at Ascot by 9 lengths. I've always liked this horse, and I think I'll like him even more after this race.
N.B
2-1 Best price (as of Friday evening)
3rd - didn't jump well for the final 3 fences.
13.45 Warwick
Great Reason went into the notebook after a pleasing chase debut back in January. Would have been a lot closer bar a blunder 2 out. Jetnova will not be a push over though, but I feel Great Reason will be a better chaser.
N.N.B
No prices yet.
FELL
15.40 Newbury
Rigidity clearly needed the run on seasonal debut as he improved markedly on 2nd start at Ascot in a much better race. Now he has Aiden Coleman back on I believe he could go one better here.
E/W Selection
7-1 Best price (as of Friday evening)
POOR

RACING Friday 30/12/11
Good morning followers, and a Happy New Year to you all.
15.10 Haydock
The NAP today runs in this race and its the highly regarded Donald McCain runner Sydney Paget. He has impressed in both starts since under rules and now with Jason Maguire on board he can show his true class. I do not think the heavy ground will be a problem at all.
NAP
7-4 Best price
14.55 Taunton
Laudatory is a horse that is down in grade, down in the weights and now has McCoy booked. This is a cracking e/w bet.
N.B
11-2 Best price
12.40 Taunton
All the talk in this race will be about either Black Thunder or Mister Dillon, but Captain Sunshine contested in an excellent bumper behind Montbazon back in March and is the value horse here.
N.N.B
11-2 Best price
2nd... VERY unlucky. Notebook horse.

RACING Thursday 29/12/11
Good morning all, hoping to improve on my 1st, 2nd and 3rd yesterday. I have a few selections for you all to think about today.
12.00 Kelso
Brindisi Breeze was an impressive winner in a p2p race in Ireland and will love this extra 6 furlongs after finishing a close 2nd over 2miles in his only bumper. This gelding, trained by Lucinda Russell will also relish the softer conditions.
NAP
5-2 Best price.
WINNER
13.55 Leopardstown
Thousand Stars should win this with his form, and I have backed him to do so. He didn't let me down last time, so why should I side with anyone else? He's too short to be a NAP, so I'll take him as my N.B
N.B
11-10 Best price.
2nd
14.10 Kelso
My e/w steal today is Dove Hill. This horse was originally with Howard Johnson, and looked to have a nice career ahead of him. He's now moved to Sheena Walton and he may need this run, but its worth a market check, because if they back this, then they fancy it and it has ran well fresh before.
N.N.B - e/w
10-1 Best price.
6th - drifted out to 20-1, so clearly not fancied today... keep on side though as didn't run badly.

I am only going to concentrate on the graded races at Leopardstown today, and sadly, they are rather short prices.
14.00 Leopardstown
Some of you may remember I tipped up Voler La Vodette on its last victory. However much I love this horse I feel the ground and trip will see her struggle to confirm that form with Mourad. 3 miles and the better ground will suit Mourad much more that Voler La Vodette today.
NAP
6-4 Best price.
2nd
14.35 Leopardstown
Quito De La Roque is a proven horse at the top level having only lost once over fences, and that was coming 2nd to the RSA winner Bostons Angel. With most of the horses in this race wanting bottomless ground (some may argue that my selection does too) I feel that Quito De La Roque - albeit better on soft - can still win here today. He did win on good ground at Aintree last year.
N.B
15-8 Best price.
3rd
13.25 Leopardstown
A nice novice chase in prospect here... the Gigginstown House Stud have 3 in it, 2 being at the head of the market. The one I am going to side with is the 2nd choice (presumably due to jockey bookings). Last Instalment has impressed me mightily since taking to fences and I feel he can take this Group 1 race before going onto better things.
N.N.B
85-40 Best price.

These prices were taken as of Tuesday night (27th)... I do apologise for them being short priced runners, but they're who I fancy and I cannot change that.

14.45 Chepstow
Hollow Tree is a very exciting prospect here and I am expecting him to improve even more and win this quite comfortably.

9-4 Best price.

14.10 Chepstow
My selection Galaxy Rock looks to have been laid out for this race. Up 11lbs for a very easy win may not hold him back. He loves the heavy ground and hits all the trends for a Welsh National winner.
N.B - e/w
10-1 Best price.
PU - Was travelling well before a mistake.
I also have a short priced double, which I am not backing myself, because I do not back odds on , but if its your thing then I would advise Peddlers Cross, 13.25 Kempton and Sous Les Cieux, 13.55 Leopardstown, which pays about 11/8 for the double.
Both lost... which just goes to show you why I do not back odds on horses!
Good luck all.

RACING - Boxing Day, Kempton
Good day to you all. I am not sure what day you are reading this, but I hope you have a good day!
I have decided to write up my Boxing Day selections early. I have 3 at the moment, for the 3 main races. If I have any extra selections, I will update accordingly.
14.35 Kempton
I cant for the life of me understand why Binocular is 2-1 favourite here. I have never really been overly convinced by this horse, apart from his Cheltenham Hurdle victory in 2010 he has mainly disappointed punters. My idea of the winner in this race is Rock on Ruby. This gelding held some excellent novice form last year and then won with top weight very impressively on seasonal debut beating another good Nicholls horse in Empire Levant. This horse is a cracking bet at 9-4.
NAP
9-4 Best price.

14.00 Kempton
There are 2 horses in this race that I like a lot, and unsurprisingly, they are at the head of the market. Both are horses that I looked forward to seeing over fences. I do have to side with Grands Crus though. I cant help but get away from the fact that Nicky Henderson is much better at training hurdlers than chasers, and to me, Bobs Worth didn't look like a convincing jumper. Grands Crus is a classy horse and I feel that the horse he beat last time out (Sonovic) will also turn out to be one to keep on your side. I see a closely run race here but feel Grands Crus will come out the winner.
N.B
6-4 Best price.

Long Run and Kauto Star are clearly the classiest horses in this race. There is no way I can take a short price on Long Run after his sluggish type display last time out, and wonder whether 6 weeks is enough time to get him back to full fitness. Kauto Star won really well last time out, but sadly I don't actually think he will keep that form with Long Run this time round... That leaves me with the unknown Captain Chris as my selection. You can get this horse at 8-1 NRNB with Ladbrokes and I feel that is the value angle. This Philip Hobbs trained horse would no doubt have won the Haldon at Exeter if he didn't unseat Richard Johnson, and I am not concerned by the step up to 3 miles. Captain Chris won over 2 miles 5 furlongs at Kempton by 13 lengths as a novice chaser and appeared to relish the trip.
N.N.B - e/w
8-1 Best price.

UPDATE
I have 2 other selections a follows;
13.45 Wetherby
When Sarando hasn't fallen he holds some serious form. This is probably an after thought for connections after a fall in the Hennessy, but I backed it that day and have again for tomorrow.
4th choice
8-1 Best price.

13.25 Kempton
I was really taken by Trafalgar Roads chase debut. He didnt particularly jump with a lot of zest, but I expect him to have improved on that. It was also only his second start after nearly 2 years off so should be even fitter now.

Today could end up being a very good day, or a very bad one. I have 5 selections today that I fancy, and I am going to tip them all up.
14.15 Ffos Las
We'll start off with the NAP here. Back in June, Wings of Smoke was contesting in a better race than this and travelled like the winner before weakening after the last flight. He has since had a breathing op which should have sorted that out. I feel he is better than a 118 rated horse.

Just the 2 selections from me today in what looks to be an uninspiring day of racing.
13.30 Taunton
This is easily the best race on the cards today... 3 horses at the head of the market, but I have to side with Oldrick. This Philip Hobbs runner was not suited by the slow pace on chase debut and started travelling and jumping much better once the pace quickened. There will be a pace setter in this race and Oldrick is my best chance today.
NAP
9-4 best price.
WINNER - Jumped really well.
14.20 Musselburgh
Simply Ned is taking on his first handicap on a mark that I believe will look far too small by the end of today. This gelding has won a maiden and novice hurdle at minimum fuss and should take this before going onto better things.

No blog yesterday, but did advise 2 selections on Twitter. 1 won, the other didn't. Still made a slight profit.
Looking at today's racing, and for a Monday, its not too bad at all. I have 3 selections for you.
13.30 Plumpton
Captain Moonman was a NAP for me last week, which didn't end up running. Not sure why it didn't run, but this horse looks one to follow for the season. This gelding was highly impressive on his final start in Irish points beating a subsequent Grade 2 winner by 7 lengths. He has joined a yard that can easily ready one from a long lay off.
NAP
9-4 Best price.
4th. Market told the story, drifted to 9-2. Keeping in notebook as 3 miles + will surely suit.
15.40 Bangor
The stand out horse in this race is the Warren Greatrex gelding Off The Wall. Finished 3rd behind the smart looking Population at Ascot and that form has been franked.
N.B
11-8 Best price.
3rd. Raced wide for better ground, no match for winner though who looked impressive.
14.10 Bangor
Rowan Tiger has finished 2nd under 2 different apprentices in recent weeks, with those now off and A P McCoy taking over, I only see a winner here.
N.N.B
7-4 Best price.

Good morning followers. I have just reached the 1000 mark and I am hoping I do not disappoint today.
I will be picking out a couple of e/w shots today as favourites and the shorter priced horses have been a bit unreliable the last couple of days.
Ascot 15.35
I am possibly picked the hardest race of the day here, but Gibb Rivers return a couple of weeks ago was really eye-catching. He should be spot on for today and now Barry Geraghty is on board, i'm hoping he goes one better.
NAP - e/w

Haydock 14.10
Houblon Des Obeaux is a real mudlark and he has surely been waiting for this before he shines this season.
N.B - e/w

This last selection is by no means a tip, and if it wins it will not towards my profit margins as I truly believe Big Bucks will win... however, Ladbrokes are refunding all losing stakes if you finish 2nd to Big Bucks... If you like Dynaste, like I do also, then this isn't a bad shout.

Its so nice to look at a card during the week and see a couple of Group races!
Ascot 13.55
I tweeted this selection last night as I got 6-4 for it. That looks snapped up now and looks Evens best price. Hazy Tom is the selection and I am very excited about this smart prospect. Looks like he has Molotof to beat, who has some excellent form himself, but the 3 extra lbs for Hazy Tom will see this one win today.
NAP
6-4 Price I took (evens best price as I write this.)
3rd, rather disappointing.
Ascot 15.40
As my followers have probably noticed, I very rarely tip up a horse in a bumper as they can be very unreliable. However, Claret Cloak went straight into the notebook after his debut as he beat some quite fancied sorts rather easily.
9-4 Best price.
Uttoxeter 13.10
I was going to leave it as 2 bets today, but then Court Victory jumped out at me... Its with the same yard at Claret Cloak who can clearly get a horse ready first time out. He was impressive in his P2P in Ireland beating Havingotascoobydo in the process who has some excellent novice form in the UK this year. It has an outstanding e/w chance.

Another four more selections today... I need to start getting back in the winners enclosure.
12.50 Newbury
Minella Stars was a really good point winner so should be at home over fences. Needed his return run at Exeter so should be spot on for today.
NAP
5-2 Best price
3rd
14.10 Lingfield
Emerald Wilderness has been running really well in defeat lately from poor draws so I am expecting him to go one better here. He has good form at Lingfield.
N.B
9-4 Best price
Winner - went off at 5-2
2 other selections will both be my N.N.B's...
12.40 Bangor
Go Get Em Kid has clearly been waiting to get over fences and I feel he can make a mockery of his handicap mark of 105.
7-2 Best price
Poor
14.20 Bangor
We have another horse here who is thrown in on their handicap debut... and that is Garton King.
7-4 Best price.

RACING Tuesday 13/12/11
Ok then... I have some interesting selections today. 4 in total, 2 on the nose, and 2 e/w.
13.40 Folkestone
This is a nice informative race that I am looking forward to. Mainly due to Captain Moonman. In this geldings final p2p start he beat a subsequent group winner in Mount Benbullan. Tim Vaughan has hit top form again in the past few days and I am expecting a big run.
NAP
9-2 Best price.
N/R
13.10 Folkestone
Cabinet Minister will benefit from recent spin after nearly 2 years off and should be spot on for today.
N.B
3-1 Best price.
Poor
12.40 Folkestone
In Enroller we have a horse that is a group winner on the flat and making its hurdles debut. If this horse was trained by a much more powerful trainer I do not think you would get 11-2 about him.
N.N.B
11-2 Best price.
Poor
And for a cheeky e/w outsider.
13.30 Southwell
Always be wary of a Captain Rio horse at Southwell... and today we have Riflessione who is currently at 12-1 and has proven form on the fibresand.
12-1 best price.
3rd - e/w profit
Good luck all.

RACING Monday 12/12/11
Right then... one winner out of four on Saturday put me in profit for the day. Zero winners from three yesterday didn't though as all three were disappointing.
My overall profit margin at present is still just over £66 to £1 stake though.
15.15 Wolverhampton
Lost City is the NAP of the day in what appears to be a pretty poor days racing. This Richard Fahey trained gelding went off as 8-11 favourite in quite a nice little maiden in Ireland on debut so must have been highly regarded. He was off for 8 months after that and finished 3rd last month on his first start on the polytrack... I feel that will set him spot on for today and will take all the beating.
NAP
13-8 Best price.
Poor
14.00 Fakenham
Investment Affair is 2 from 2 at Fakenham in recent months and can extend that here. The claim on the amateur jockey is well worth the 3lbs and for the price, its a cracking e/w bet.
N.B
11-2 Best price.
2nd - e/w back.
There are a lot of short priced favourites today, so if doubles are your thing then I can see no better than El Dancer (15.00 Fakenham) and Cotton Mill (15.30 Fakenham). They are currently best priced at 2-5 and 1-2 respectively and the double pays at just over evens.
N.N.B
11-10 Double price.
2nd and 1st.
Good luck all.

RACING Sunday 11/12/11
Here are my thoughts for today.
14.05 Punchestown
The 4-1 on offer for Tranquil Sea is huge in my opinion. I feel that this horse has the best form in the race and will love the ground and distance.
NAP
4-1 Best price.
Poor
15.45 Hereford
Tip of my Tongue shaped very promising on handicap debut and looks set to go one better here.
N.B
5-2 Best price.

Off The Ground is a notebook horse of mine as he stayed on really well last time out without really being touched.

RACING Saturday 10/12/11
2 out of 4 yesterday... does that bring me back in form? Lets see today.
12.45 Cheltenham
Champion Court was far from disgraced behind Grand Crus last time out and I believe this horse has a cracking chance today. He won going away at Aintree so I don't see this 3 miles as an issue at all and his jumping is improving.
NAP
3-1 Best price
Poor
15.05 Cheltenham
Menorah is a horse that finished 5th in the Champion Hurdle, won this race last year and loves it at Cheltenham... this is a cracking price today.
N.B
4-1 Best price
Poor
2 others I like today are Halley (13.55 Cheltenham) and Quantitativeeasing (14.30 Cheltenham). If Halley was trained by a top trainer he would be odds on today... and I am happier to have B Geraghty on Quantitativeeasing over McCoy.
These are my N.N.B's
Halley - 10-3 - really poor
Quantitativeeasing - 8-1 - WINNER
Best prices
I have also backed a Racing/Football 5 fold.
Hinterland / Oscar Whisky / Man United / Arsenal / Celtic
roughly 5-1

RACING Friday 02/12/11
Good morning all.. after 3 days straight of hitting blanks, I am hoping to come back with a bang today. All selections from Cheltenham, its nice to have some proper racing.
14.20 Cheltenham
I really like these races as a spectacle, but not normally for a betting angle... however, I have started an affection for Uncle Junior. I backed this horse last time it won over c&d and it was clearly the best horse in the race. Many people will argue that Garde Champetre was unlucky, but if you go back and watch, Uncle Junior nearly ran far too wide to win, yet still held on well.
NAP
7-2 best price.
Ran out
14.55 Cheltenham
I do not normally bet such short odds in a handicap, but Osargo looks absolutely thrown in here and I will be amazed if he isn't good enough to beat this lot.
N.B
11-8 best price.
WINNER
I have 2 other bets that I class as nice fancies as well.
12.35 Cheltenham
Edgardo Sol is creeping up the weights a bit too much for me, and this leaves it open for a well handicapped horse. Tony Star hasn't been penalised for his good 2nd last time out behind Dineur and I believe he can go one better here. I have backed e/w
7-1 best price.
5th
12.00 Cheltenham
I cannot see Solix getting beat here. This looks a very good horse after beating Duke of Lucca rather easily... I feel it should be odds on.
11-10 best price.

Good luck all. I will be out all afternoon so wont get to watch anything until tonight :-(

RACING Thursday 08/12/11
I am struggling to find a clear cut winner today. There is some good racing though and I have found 3 higher priced runners which have some e/w interest.
14.00 Huntingdon
I'll start off here in the Peterborough Chase... I cannot for the life of me back Somersby at 7-4. I feel that he is overrated and nearly always finds one too good. If he wins, then he wins, but I am happy to watch him do that. Gauvain is a horse that I believe is best fresh, and even though he was running well at the weekend, it still might be a bit too soon for him. My selection is Tartak who has form in this race for the past 2 years and should be fit from his recent spin in France. 12-1 here is much more appealing than anything else.
NAP - e/w
12-1 Best price
13.10 Ludlow
Get It On is an excellent price here for against the likely favourite Darna. Darna was very lucky to win last time out, what with Kid Cassidy falling... Get It On has some good form over fences and should be more at home at Ludlow.
N.B
7-1 Best price
3.00 Huntingdon
I feel that there is some value in Daramatic Duke today. This horse pulled far too hard on debut and was never going to see it out. That run might have put him straight for this and I hope he can settle better. He was bred to jump, and its no surprise to see Jonjo putting him over hurdles quickly. He won his P2P very easily.
11-1 Best price
That's it for me today, small e/w bets. I feel I should also point out that Ruby looks to have a great set of rides today at Clonmel, I am waiting to see prices before having a play.
Good luck all.

RACING Wednesday 7/12/11
It appears to be another day for minimum stakes. Not loads have jumped out at me today, but I have still found a couple of interesting ones.
14.30 Leicester
Spice Bar was so far clear on his 2nd chase start that if he hadn't blundered and unseated then he was sure to win. He is running off the same mark today and I expect him to win. Other than his blunder when 3 out his jumping was good and accurate.
NAP
15-8 Best price.
Poor
15.20 Hexham
We have a horse in this race called Treehouse who seems to keep his best runs for this course and is also a horse who wants heavy ground. 4-1 is a very good price for him so you could even cover yourself with an e/w bet... but I am going win.

RACING Tuesday 6/12/11
My selections today come from Southwell and Sedgefield. Its not the best of days for betting in my opinion, so it might be wise to stick to minimum stakes today.
14.30 Southwell
Soopacal is by Captain Rio so Southwell is probably his best surface. His latest run over course and distance was his best for sometime and a drop into claiming company can see him win here, like it did on his last victory.
NAP
2-1 Best price.
2nd
12.50 Sedgefield
We have a rather experienced Irish raider in this race, who to me, looks fully exposed. I am siding with the Charles Egerton trained Monnow Made who made a very pleasing debut over hurdles and looked as if the extra few furlongs will be ideal.
N.B
5-2 Best price.
Unplaced
13.00 Southwell
A lot of horses for courses in this race, but none more so than the prolific Monsieur Jamie who is bidding for his 5th C&D win in only his 7th attempt.

RACING Monday 5/12/11
After the success of my 3 timer yesterday, I have another 3 selections today.
13.00 Lingfield
My NAP runs in this race and its the Stan Moore trained One More Roman. This colt has had 3 runs in maidens and is quickly dropped to a seller. Its the trainers only runner today who is in pretty good form.
NAP
7-2 Best price.
WINNER
15.40 Plumpton
Not a bad looking bumper here... and I will be siding with the Warren Greatrex trained newcomer Prime Location. The trainers NHF runners have been in excellent form, especially first time out and I don't expect this to stop today. The main danger is Tidal Dance, but I prefer this horse, and the price ;-).
N.B
9-2 Best price.
Unplaced.
13.10 Plumpton
Some of you may remember I tipped up Invictus on its chase debut last time out and it won really nicely. Well today it steps up in class slightly and is taking on a couple of well thought of horses. I am not going to go against Invictus again today as I feel this horse has a rather promising future. he has 19lbs to find with Gift of Dgab, but I feel that mark might be flattering for him...

Good morning... NAP was 2nd and N.B was a winner yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the day at Sandown and the winner on Deep Purple was the highlight for me. Sizing Europe was also excellent, although I was on Kauto Stone.
Looking at the Grade 1's in Ireland today and I have my NAP and N.B from there. I also like one in the Scottish National at Kelso.
13.20 Fairhouse
Bog Warrior looks a future star in my opinion. The way it won its chase debut was highly impressive and he jumped beautifully. First Lieutenant will not be an easy opponent but I feel Bog Warrior will come out superior.
NAP
7-4 Best price
WINNER - drifted to 15-8
13.50 Fairyhouse
Voler La Vodette has come unstuck on all previous group one attempts, but they were against the likes of Hurricane Fly and Quevega... there is neither of that quality in this race today and I feel this is her chance with conditions being perfect.

3 bets from me today, pretty short prices so I do apologise, but I fancy a big run from all 3.
13.55 Sandown
I am very much in the Fingal Bay camp here. This horse has done absolutely nothing wrong and has beaten some other promising hurdlers in the process. 11-8 is a cracking price for this horse who I believe should be odds on.

13.00 Exeter
In the week we saw a horse called Kumbeshwar take very nicely to the chase fences... today we see a horse called Walkon who represents all of the same connections in trainer/owner/jockey and its the horses chase début too. Walkon can also run very well when fresh.
N.B

14.30 Sandown
I think that this is a tough little race to work out, and probably not one to go too overboard with, but I do really like the prospects of Bostons Angel. this horse was one of the top novice chasers last year, and bar one costly error in his final outing, he really impressed on his jumping and winning attitude.
