RACING Saturday 31/12/11 - NYE

Good Evening/Night/Morning, or just, whenever you are reading this!

I have 4 selections for a nice days racing on a Saturday. I am writing this up early as will be playing golf early in the morning so likely to miss the first few races.

14.35 Newbury
If Quotica De Poyans hadn't blundered at the last fence last time out he would surely have made a pleasing handicap debut. This hugely consistent hunter chase / point to pointer changed hands in May for £75,000 and is set for better than this class 3.

Poor - PU

14.05 Newbury
There are 3 horses in here that I have previously tipped, and they all ran really well. But which has the scope for more improvement over fences? It has to be Walkon. Like Quotica De Poyans, this gelding is trained by Alan King who looks to be set for a good day. Walkon finished 6 lengths in front of Zaynar who has subsequently backed that form up by winning a Grade 2 Novice Chase at Ascot by 9 lengths. I've always liked this horse, and I think I'll like him even more after this race.

2-1 Best price (as of Friday evening)
3rd - didn't jump well for the final 3 fences.

13.45 Warwick
Great Reason went into the notebook after a pleasing chase debut back in January. Would have been a lot closer bar a blunder 2 out. Jetnova will not be a push over though, but I feel Great Reason will be a better chaser.

No prices yet.
FELL

15.40 Newbury
Rigidity clearly needed the run on seasonal debut as he improved markedly on 2nd start at Ascot in a much better race. Now he has Aiden Coleman back on I believe he could go one better here.
E/W Selection
7-1 Best price (as of Friday evening)
POOR

Good luck all.
