Good morning all, and welcome to the new 'Weekend Blog'. There are a few short priced favourites out there today that I like, but any man and their dog could pick out a short priced favourite. They include Grumeti in the 12.55 Cheltenham, Broadbackbob in the 15.10 Cheltenham and Rocky Creek in the 15.25 at Doncaster. I suppose you could use those in a trixie?
2 winners and a 2nd.
However, I do also have a NAP, that is currently a favourite and 3 very interesting each way selections.
14.35 Cheltenham - Argento Chase
I have seen a lot of people claiming that Captain Chris will not stay today in the Argento Chase. I have to admit that its questionable, however, I do believe that he'll be absolutely fine. His third behind two VERY good horses in the King George was excellent form as he didn't appear to travel well at all. I do not believe that Philip Hobbs would 'up' him in trip if he didn't think he could cope.
NAP
3-1 Best price.
PU. Something a miss.
14.50 Doncaster - Sky Bet Chase
The Sky Bet Chase is as ever, highly competitive. A chance can be taken on Shalimar Fromentro. This grey gelding trained by Nick Williams was running a nice race in the Becher Chase before falling at Bechers. He looks to be on a very nice mark for his 2nd handicap and I think he will go very close.
N.B
8-1 Best price.
Unplaced, but a good run.
12.50 Lingfield
My N.N.B selection today goes in this race and its against the popular favourite Trip Switch. Choral Festival is in good form and is dropped down in class today. Confident selection against the favourite.
N.N.B
6-1 Best price.
Poor
13.30 Cheltenham
There is a big rise in the weights for Mr Chow to tackle today, but I think this horse is very good and can take on this extra few pounds.
E/W Selection
8-1 Best price.
RIP Mr Chow :-(
Good luck all! Whether you agree with the above or not, I hope you have a very profitable Saturday.
